This article was started a month ago. I hadn’t gotten around to finishing it up. But Today seems like a awesome day to do so, especially with the wonderful news of her pregnancy!!

So now to the good stuff….. HAIR!!!!

So  had been thinking of getting a full lace wig for myself.  But I hate to see full lace wigs on women and knowing that they are wearing a wig. I started looking to YouTube for inspiration. I saw many video’s, some FAIL, some PASS.

I then decided to start studying some really high resolution pictures of Beyonce. I think that her wigs are often flawless, and she keeps you guessing to weather she’s

wearing her hair or not. From my study  I found two things. First, lately she has been wearing a lot of sew ins!! With her natural hair out on top and edges. Second, I found that when she wears a wig, although lately it’s been positioned behind the hairline, the new growth, or as some say “roots”, being darker makes it look more realistic. Perhaps, because her own hair naturally is darker at the root.  Or it may be because it draws attention away from the scalp to where you don’t notice the presence of the lace, thin skin, or silk base. Whichever she’s wearing.  I would need pictures with  2000×2000+ pixel’s with a 500+ resolution to tell.

Another thing that is important to note is that there are two types of lace. Swiss and French. Most wigs that women purchase are French lace because the lace is stronger. But I do believe that because Beyonce can afford it she probably wears Swiss Lace wigs, these are the most undetectable, yet the most fragile. With that being said most people will not purchase a Swiss Lace Wig. I have one on custom order, I will give more details on that later.

Silk Base

Along with the coloring and Swiss Lace,  do see that the density of Beyonce’s wigs makes it more believable! Density is key. With French lace you can’t really do a light density at the hair line because the lace will detectable, whereas if Swiss Lace is used n conjunction with a light density that goes into medium and full density throughout the wig makes for a Believable Full Lace Install!

Then there is skin weft or thin skin*, (picture posted above) and silk base which give the illusion that the hair is growing out of the scalp.

So, at the moment  have a Dolce Jolie Blown Out Texture and a Dolce Jolie Au Natural Texture Thin Skin Wigs on custom order. They are both low density at the hairline and they go from medium to thicker as it goes through the crown. I am excited about both of these wigs and I can’t wait to share them with you!!

Has this kept you from ordering curly hair? Well let it not be a stumbling block anymore. Curly hair extensions can be tamed using the same techniques used for naturally curl hair, especially if using Dolce Jolie Remy and Virgin Hair Extensions, because they are derived from Natural Hair!

 
I found some great video’s via YouTube to help you Curly Gals to tame the frizz and gain beautiful, lucious, volumous curls! I have used all three of these techniques before on myself and on clients. Order some curly hair and start Styling!

My Dolce Jolie Au Natural Install

 When I wore the  Dolce Jolie Au Natural  texture I tried all three of these techniques. I found that all of them worked well, the result just depends on our desired results.

Another way of doing this is by doing two strand twist on damp hair and going to bed. I suggest using a Terry Cloth Pillow Case or just laying a towel over your pillow. Or doing it to where you have time for the hair to air dry or for you to sit under the dryer.

The second technique is called streching the Curl using a diffuser and blower (blow dryer with a concentrator). Start by shampooing the hair and then conditioning it. Be sure to comb out the hair before rinsing the conditioner out. Do not comb through the hair after the conditioner has been rinsed. Use CHI Silk Infusion and Keratin Mist along with CHI Magnified Volume Spray Foam. Then start to diffuse the hair. Turn head upside down and move the hair around streching the hair as you diffuse. Once the hair is 85% dry turn your head upside down and start working on the roots with the concentrator and blower streching the roots for a fuller elongated curly style.

I purchased a wig for one of my best friends.  The wig was medium and she really needed a small we realized after we tried it on.

As you will see in the video, we flipped the wig inside out and placed it properly on her head. I then use pins to secure the seam that I would create so that I could cut off the access wig. I used a sewing machine and double stitched the beginning stitched and followed the seam through to the end. I then double stitched the end so that I could reinforce it.

I cut off the excess and then combed the hair that was caught in the seam out. Afterwards I sealed the seam with fray blocker.
